Help your crew ;)

OK guys, there are only so many of us in the crew so we need people to jump in and help where they can. Since some crewbies have been asking how they can help in and around the crew (thanks guys!) I thought I'd post a short list of what we need help with at the moment.

If you would like to help out with something, either post in this thread or contact your captain/SOs and let us know.

• Foraging: We need people who can help make a routine out of moving the fruit from the foraging ship and selling the fruit at islands as well as who can work the job offer. The jobbing can be done on an alt while you are busy with other things.

• Crew funds: Ideas to come up with ways (other than the foraging business) to raise crew funds. Use your imagination You could also perhaps work together with the event people (see below). Crew funds are used to organise things for the crew as well as buy ships, etc. that the crew feels should be invested in.

• Events: People who can run events and fun things for crewmembers to participate in. If they do not themselves come up with ideas, they at least need to be in charge of making sure the event happens. This includes coming to us (captain/SOs - we need to give you funds) with suggestions for suitable prizes.
  
  Events can be done in any way or medium that is related to the crew - do you want to organise something over mumble?; how about the forum? You don't have to restrict yourself to bake offs on the game
  
  Where possible it would be great if some of the events could include some monetary income, but it is not a must do for every event.

Anyone, no matter your rank, can help the crew with various things, but sometimes you will need the help of someone with a certain rank to help you - for example a pirate rank cannot sail a ship with stock, but they can help by doing duty stations on the ship.

If you have any other suggestions of how you would like to help the crew, please contact myself or any of the SOs.

Can ask what the foraging situation is right now? Do we put up foraging offers on the notice board regularly? Do we have specific people to put the offer up when they can?

Right now, the foraging business has gone a bit stale. Hence we need people to help sort it out again. The foraging business can be done by more than one person.

Remember that foraging can only be done at an uninhabited island.

What the foraging would entail:

• Putting up a job offer: The job offer needs to be put up by a pirate with at least FO rank. You could have someone put up an offer and an officer rank could job the people applying to forage on the ship. The offer might have to be changed from time to time, so that might be a problem for those lower than FO.

• Jobbing: You literally just job people and it's nice if you greet them. They forage, they leave. Maybe they'll start a bit of a conversation with you. Normally it's just forage and leave.

• The stock: The person doing the foraging jobbing needs to keep an eye on the hold. When it starts getting rather full, an FO or higher rank needs to transfer stock to the merchant brig we have at the island.
  
  If foragers bring gems aboard, you need to keep a pirate on the ship or ask someone else to stand there for you if you need to hop off for something. If you leave gems unattended they will be "stolen".
  
  Gems are bought at the following islands on Sage:
  Amethyst gems : Kasidim (Ibis Archipelago)
  Coral gems : Scurvy Reef (Osprey Archipelago)
  Jade gems : Greenwich Island (Pelican Archipelago)
  Lapis Lazuli gems : Wensleydale (Gull Archipelago)
  Rubies : Wissachickon Island (Stork Archipelago)
  

• Sailing fruit: The fruit on the merchant brig needs to get sailed to the relevant island(s). Make sure there is enough rum for the journey. An officer or higher rank can sail the ship and control its functions/buttons. Keep an eye out for ships that might attack you and turn in time.

• Selling fruit: The island you sell the fruit at depends on what fruit were foraged and what island buys said fruit. You will have to hunt around a bit to find the best price to sell the fruit at. You can look on Y!PPedia ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: type in the type of fruit in the search box on the left) for which islands buy the specific fruit.
  
  When at the island you need to sell the fruit. If you have worked out the rum correctly, once the fruit have been sold there shouldn't be anything left in the hold. If so set the ship on Swabbie Ship Transport, chart to the island where we have the foraging gf.
